Books That Cook

In both sessions, campers will work closely in small groups to create delicious recipes pulled right out of their favorite literature! Campers will create their own journal-style recipe books and have the opportunity to draw illustrations to go with their recipes. Junior chefs and bakers will participate in each step of the cooking process: counting, measuring, pouring, and mixing...and of course, eating! At the end of each session, campers will bring home her/his own hand-made recipe book filled with their art, recipes, and book titles used at camp. Any allergies or dietary restrictions will be taken into account for every recipe used, ensuring that the experience is healthy and fun for all!

Food Around the World

July 10 - 21

Grab your passport and come travel the wonderful world of books and food! This summer our junior creative cooks will embark on a tour sampling foods from all around the world. Together we will learn about the cultural and culinary traditions of countries from many continents while cooking up some of their own mouthwatering delicacies. With our imaginations, creativity, and cooking skills, we will travel the world through literature with our appetites as our guide!

Cooking Through the Seasons

July 24 - August 4

No matter what your favorite season, campers will collaborate with new friends and books during our two-week seasonal food extravaganza. This summer, we are taking our program to a new level while cooking our snacks and meals from everyone's favorite seasons such as gingerbread houses, Valentine's Day sweets, Cinco de Mayo quesadillas, and so much more! In small groups, campers will journey into their favorite books as they get ready to create sweet and savory seasonal favorites.
