Drobots Drone STEM Camp

Our collaboration with the Drobots Company creates innovative experiences that shift students between the excitement and hands-on activities of indoor learning and engineering with the freedom and exploration of the outdoors. Campers utilize imagination, hand-eye coordination, and STEM applications to conquer challenges and missions in a team-oriented environment. Drobot campers at Summer at Park will receive education on the social responsibility of technology and learn about the ways in which drone technology can be used for good by citizen scientists.

NEW! Junior Drone Missions

June 24 - July 5

Session 1

Junior Drone Missions is specifically designed for campers with little to no experience flying drones or coding. Campers will learn the basic principles of how to code drones to fly. To complement the coding aspect of the program, we teach the campers how to utilize basic flight terminology to conquer fun and interactive flight challenges. Campers will learn to pitch, yaw, and roll through self-created obstacle courses and then utilize iPads to code the drones through the obstacle courses. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. Drone safety and the social responsibilities of flying drones are included in this program.

Grades 1 - 3 Only

NEW! Junior Drone Pilots

July 22 - August 2

Session 2

Junior Drone Pilots is specifically designed for campers with little to no experience flying drones. We use the safest and most reliable drone products on the market, including the Parrot™ drones for enhanced safety and most of all, fun. Campers will learn the basics of drone technology and safety before taking to the air. Through the use of iPad flight simulators and clear instructions on basic flying maneuvers, young Drobots’ pilots will experience a program filled with excitement, games, challenges, and learning. Campers work all week long to prepare for the most enjoyable part of the week: the Ultimate Drone Games that include events such as: Tic-Tac-Drone, Drone Darts, Duck-Duck-Drone, and more. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. Drone safety and the social responsibilities of flying drones are included in this program.

Grades 1 - 3 Only

NEW! StemQuest: Aliens v. Wizards

August 5 - August 16

Session 3

StemQuest unplugs campers from the computer screen in this action-packed, story-based program. Throughout the week campers will be constantly on the move as they experiment and play. StemQuest has intentionally extracted the wide-array of exhilarating challenges and mysteries from popular gaming apps and turned it all into a live adventure. Campers will use age-appropriate rovers, bots, drones, and autonomous creative technology to jump over walls, push down obstacles, lift up boulders, and navigate through galaxies. Teams of campers work together in indoor, outdoor and open-spaced “worlds” throughout the week. In doing so, campers utilize life skills such as: collaborative problem solving, design, and curiosity, to outwit, out-build, and out-smart the program instructor, The Wizard.

Grades 1 - 3 Only

NEW! Delivery Drones: Earth to Mars

June 24 - July 5

Session 4

Delivery Drones will open the creative minds of participants as campers take on top secret missions that calls for them to perform drone pickups and deliveries. Campers begin the week learning basic flight maneuvers and how to use their drone grabbers strategically to deliver supplies and materials to launch pads. The building and creating continues to deliver the building blocks in space. Within their Flight Squads, campers continue the journey using Solar System Shuttles to conquer missions such as: Asteroids Evasion and Solar Panel Transport. Participants will storyboard their own delivery missions while other student Space Pirates attempt to outsmart them using drones to locate and intercept the package before the colony on Mars may be built. Drone safety and the social responsibilities of flying drones are included in this program. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer.

Grades 4 - 8 Only

NEW! StemQuest: Clash Royale

July 8 - July 19

Session 5

StemQuest unplugs campers from the computer screen in this narrative-based program. We have intentionally extracted the wide-array of exhilarating challenges and mysteries from gaming and esports and generated a live adventure. Campers will use rovers, bots, drones, and other autonomous creative technology to jump over obstacles, push down walls, lift up boulders, toss energy balls, and navigate through mazes. Teams of campers work together indoors, outdoors and in open-spaced “arenas” throughout the week, utilizing life skills such as: design and systems thinking, collaborative problem solving, curiosity, mindfulness, and imagination to outwit, out-build, and out-smart one another as well as the program instructor, The Wizard. Use your resources wisely to defend the kingdom and lead your clan to victory!

Grades 4 - 8 Only
